Ron Butler is President of Creative Direct, LLC, a direct mail firm located in Richmond, Virginia specializing in voter contact direct mail. Prior to forming Creative Direct, Ron managed many successful campaigns, including the campaign of Virginia Lieutenant Governor John Hager. He served for five years as Political Director for the Republican Party of Virginia and worked as Field Director for the Republican National Committee. Ron has been working full-time on behalf of Republican candidates since 1985.

Under Ron's leadership, Creative Direct has worked on behalf of more winning US Senate and Governor races than any other direct mail company. Formed in 1999, Creative Direct played a pivotal role in the 1999 Virginia elections as the exclusive direct mail company for the Republican Party of Virginia and Governor Jim Gilmore's New Majority Project. Republicans in Virginia won majorities in both houses of the General Assembly for the first time in history.

In 2000, Creative Direct created the winning direct mail for Senator George Allen, the only GOP candidate to defeat a sitting Democratic US Senator, and for Governor Judy Martz (MT). In 2001, Creative Direct added to their string of wins with the landslide win of Attorney General candidate Jerry Kilgore (VA) and the election of eleven members of the Virginia House of Delegates.

In 2002, Creative Direct clients included Governor Sonny Perdue (GA), Bob Riley (AL), Senator Susan Collins (ME) and Senator Jim Talent (MO). In 2004 Creative Direct was involved in every winning GOP challenge race for the US Senate – including the toughest races: John Thune (SD), Mel Martinez (FL), Tom Coburn (OK) and David Vitter (LA). Creative Direct also produced the winning mail for Governor Matt Blunt (MO) and the Georgia Republican Party’s successful effort to take control of both the House and Senate for the first time in history.
